To Be Free is written and illustrated by Thomas Peacock, a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe; Marlene Wisuri, Sami; Govinda Budrow, White Earth Nation and Anishinaabe; and Ivy Vainio, a direct descendant of a Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe tribal member.
